This policy explains what personal information C.C. Wells collects through this website, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

C.C. Wells is a trading name of C.C.W. (MARKETS) LIMITED, company number 03527529, of Greens Road, Dereham, Norfolk NR20 3TG (registered office: 304 High Road, Benfleet, Essex SS7 5HB). What we collect

• When you order: your name, email address, phone number, what you order, your collection point and time, and any notes or messages about your order.
• If you create an account: your login details, your order history and any favourites you save.
• When you contact us: what you send us and your contact details.

Why we use it

• To take, prepare and hand over your order, and to contact you about it. We need this information to fulfil your order.
• To run your account, if you create one.
• To keep accounting records, which the law requires.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t send you marketing unless you’ve asked us to.

How we make the website better

To spot problems and make ordering easier, the website keeps an anonymous record of how it’s used: the pages visited, the type of device and web browser, the choices made while ordering (such as the collection point and day), searches, and any error messages shown. It doesn’t record your name, email address, phone number or IP address, and it’s deleted after 180 days.

If you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner, we also link the pages of one visit together, and we may use Microsoft Clarity to record how pages are used (taps, clicks and scrolling, never what you type into forms) so we can see where people get stuck. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Norwich Website Design, who look after this website and make the shop software it uses, use this anonymous information to improve both.

Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run this website and its emails, who may handle your information on our behalf and only as we instruct: our web host, our email delivery service, and Norwich Website Design, who look after the website. If you accept analytics cookies, Microsoft (Clarity) and Google (Analytics) receive information about how the website is used.

The map on our Contact page is provided by Google. When that page loads, Google receives your device’s IP address and may set cookies; see Google’s privacy policy. Links to our Facebook and Instagram pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for six years for our accounts, as the law requires. Account details are kept until you ask us to close your account.

Cookies

Some cookies are needed for the website to work: one remembers your basket and chosen collection time, and others keep you signed in to your account. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity if we use it) are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email orders@ccwells.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
